Maxine (Fisher) Saunders M. Ed, MTA, RCC
Maxine is trained as family systems counsellor who supports children, youth and families. She has worked with families for over 24 years through public (BC Families In Transition, James Bay Community Project, MCFD) & private practice. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Certified Music Therapist & Clinical Member of The Satir Institute Of The Pacific (Transformational Family Systemic Therapy).
Children express themselves through play, music, art ,movement and talking. Counselling with Expressive Arts Therapies offers children opportunities to work through challenges and offers them healthy lifelong skills to cope with the stresses they experience. Learning challenges are also addressed.
Youth are faced with challenges that can be overwhelming. Making a connection with a counsellor they can trust can often give them the hope to move through their struggles and life long tools to give them strength.
When working with parents Maxine assists them with coping strategies to enhance their lives and the lives of their families.
“Having referred many families with children to Maxine for counselling & music therapy, I have consistently been impressed with her deep compassion, caring, skills , knowledge & her intuition. She has proven very popular with children and parents alike! I am happy to recommend her services.”
